take back

Definition: If something takes you back, it reminds you of a period of time in your past and makes you think about it.

E.g.1: This song takes me back to when I was a teenager.
E.g.2: She smelled the flower and it took her back to her childhood and the happy times she had spent helping her mother with the gardening.
