Definition: to recover from the effects of eating or drinking too much by sleeping.
E.g.1: Oh! I really shouldn’t drink at lunch time – I’ll have to sleep it off before I can do any work.
E.g.2: After sleeping off the effects of the meal, he made a strong cup of coffee.
This phrasal verb can be separated. (E.g. 1)
