sell out (of something)

Definition: to sell all examples of a particular product in a shop, so there are none left for customers to buy.

(This phrasal verb has more than one meaning)

E.g.1: I’m sorry, we’ve sold out of bread – we’ll have some more tomorrow.
E.g.2: I couldn’t get any Cheddar cheese – the shop had sold out.

This phrasal verb can’t be separated.
