E.g.1. She put the plug in, turned on the taps and waited for the bath to fill.
E.g.2. Everyone put a piece of paper with their name on it in a hat, and then someone pulled out the name of the winner.
E.g.3. He heard a gurgling noise and realised he had accidentally pulled the plug out of the bath.

This phrasal verb can be separated.
