make off with (something)

Definition: to steal something and take it away with you.
E.g.1: The dog ran into the butcher’s, jumped onto the counter and made off with a kilo of sausages.
E.g.2: Police caught the thieves as they were making off with the stolen goods.
This phrasal verb cannot be separated.
