Definition: to search for information in a reference book, a timetable or on a map etc
E.g.1: If you don’t know the meaning or pronunciation of a word, look it up in your dictionary.
E.g.2: I discovered a lot of information about it by looking it up in the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
