go off

Definition: (relating to guns, bombs, fireworks etc) to be fired to explode.
(This verb has more than one meaning)

E.g.1. When the firework went off, it could be seen for miles around.
E.g.2. She was playing with her father’s gun when it accidentally went off and shot a hole in the wall.
This phrasal verb can’t be separated.
