Definition: to be in a particular situation or place because of a series of events, although you didn’t intend to be in that situation or place.

E.g.1: If you continue to smoke there is a good chance you’ll end up in hospital, or the cemetery.
E.g.2: She was too confident about her abilities, and ended up failing the exam.
This phrasal verb can’t be separated.
