Definition: to stop belonging to a group, or attending an educational course, because you are unable or unwilling to continue.
(This phrasal verb has more than one meaning)
E.g.1: Did he complete the course? No, he dropped out – he said it was too difficult for him.
E.g.2: The pressure of modern life was too much for him so he dropped out of society and became a tramp.
This phrasal verb can’t be separated.
