dive in

Definition: to start doing something with enthusiasm and without a lot of preparation or thought.

E.g.1. After the party, his friends dived in and helped him tidy the house before his parents returned.
E.g.2. I know she’s enthusiastic, but I worry that she’ll just dive in and cause chaos. We need someone who is a little more cautious and diplomatic.

This phrasal verb can’t be separated.
