chicken out (of something)

Definition: to decide not to do something because you are afraid or lose your courage. (This is usually used to show disapproval of the decision)
E.g.1: I think she’s chickened out of telling her father that she crashed his car.
E.g.2: I was going to do a bungee jump, but when I saw how far the drop was I chickened out.
This phrasal verb cannot be separated.
